Barriers to LoTW returning

The ARRL have given more detail of the issues preventing an immediate return of Logbook of The World following the May 12 cyber-attack. Although the LoTW server and data are “fine and working”, the LoTW system has dependencies, such as membership data, which are not yet back online. In addition the ARRL team are aware that there will be a large backlog of QSOs which amateurs will be keen to upload. They say “the queue will grow quite large once live, and we are evaluating ways to manage that potential issue.”

The ARRL say they will announce when LoTW is back, although you have to wonder whether a quiet, unnanounced, relaunch might not help manage the traffic backlog.
